Icon Laser Eye Centers Inc. announced on Thursday that operations at all locations of Lasik Vision Corp.,

its newly-acquired subsidiary, have
been temporarily suspended due to LV s inability to meet payroll obligations
at this time. Additionally, LV director Ernest Remo and chief executive
officer Ghassan Barazi have resigned. Icon stated that its board of
directors was scheduled to meet over the weekend to discuss LV s
deteriorating financial situation. Meanwhile, competitor LCA-Vision Inc.
announced that its U.S. LasikPlus and Canadian LCA-Vision Centers are
offering free postoperative exams to patients affected by LV s closings.
