Keep It Outside!

Makeup Application Tips to Keep Your Eyes Healthy: How old is your mascara? If you bought it more than three months ago, throw it out. If you can’t remember when you bought it definitely throw it out. Mascara tends to collect bacteria, redepositing it on your lashes the next time you apply it. If it gets into your eyes a serious infection may result.

Applying eyeliner inside the lash line is a bad idea since it can deposit bacteria and irritating eyeliner ingredients. Wear eyeliner only outside your lash line.

Try not to use face powders, blushes, and facial moisturizers around the eye. These items often contained coal tars and other ingredients that are harmful and irritating to eyes. Use only hypoallergenic cosmetics that are labeled as specifically formulated for around-eye use.

If you wear contacts, stay away from glittery eyeshadow. Even cream formulas eventually dry, releasing tiny bits of glitter that can get stuck in your lenses.
